Hello, I just bought a used Act 3 so this is probably the first of many questions from me. Right now the main problem is Tool indexing. When I first power on the machine I can go to MDI and use T 04 to change the tool. If I try to change the tool again, the carriage jerks once and then stops. Sometimes up, sometimes down, sometimes left, sometimes right, and sometimes at an angle. But the turret never moves. Its as if the servos have jerked. There is no alarm, and the machine is happy. The result is the same until I shut off and restart the machine. Sometimes I can manually shuttle the Solenoids to force a tool change and this allows me to change tools using T 04 once. Then again, it does the jerking thing. Ya, this usually raises a 99 alarm and I need to restart the machine. But sometimes it doesn't, probably based on actual turret position vs where the 6T thinks the turret is. I really don't know for sure. |

| there could be many reasons for that. First of all, make sure if hydraulic clamp/ unclamp is working well. When You actuate hydraulic valve manually, look, if turret is unclamped properly. You can rotate the unclamped turret by hand (machine must be switched off). Maybe hydraulic systems must be cleaned and oil changed twice. When You're sure, that hydraulic is correct, look under turret covers. Coolant based dirt can obscure position sensors. There is drain hole, it could be clogged. |
