IF is a conditional command. The code following the IF command ([VTLCN EQ 1]) says in English IF the tool in the spindle equals T01 then goto block number N1. It causes the the control to skip the tool change command if the tool is already in the spindle so it won't alarm out. Unlike a lot of other machines OSP doesn't skip duplicate tool commands. P1 is a reference point, on my MA-400s it is the tool change position. If you have a maintenance agreement with your MC reseller then an OSP post would be a good idea. We don't so I use a Fanuc post that is edited the way I like and then edit the posted program for the OSP codes. Probably not the way you should go. Look up pnemonitics in your manuals and it will list the various commands such as [VTLCN EQ nn].

It would depend on your grasp of the machine specific g-code as to how much of a pain it is. If I had a post then I would use the post and then do away with the need for hand editing.

| i dont have mx9 disk or the maintance package for my mx3... there are no certain rules or anything.. if someone could send me programs they have written for their OSP would be cool that way i could compare them to my programs to see what i am missing. |

| i.e. Mill a flat face, say 100x100 (mm) using a 40mm cutter Machine a square 10mm deep around the profile of this face to, say 90x90, using cutter rad comp. Drill and tap 2 M16x2.0p holes in the face somewhere. A fairly simple straight forward program that covers many different operations and tools. Show us the resulting program and then we would all be operating from the same point of view. Brian. |

You can go to Emastercam website and download the FREE Mpmaster post from here pick the one you need, then modify to suit your shop A Mc9 or Mx2 has to be upgraded before they can run properly in a higher release, for you, it would be better to start fresh |
