    Okuma ES-V4020 vs ?

I have been looking for a larger capacity VMC and came across a 2000 Okuma ES-V4020 from a trade school with under 200 hrs. OSP U10M control, no DNC, not enough memory, 8K spindle. There are some newer low hour repo machines of similar to greater capacity and features with Fanuc and Anilam controls for the same money. How does the 9 year old basically new Okuma compare to the newer machines in regards to quality, durability, etc? Are there any third party sources for Okuma parts, particularly DNC boards? I know it was made in eastern Europe, is it a "real" Okuma in quality ie something I won't regret paying Okuma prices for parts and upgrading to DNC etc?

I think you've talked yourself into it

10 Hp = bit of grunt-BT40 holders may bring it back though
20 tools may limit you depending on the type of work
    Okuma has a solid reputation,
standard memory i think is 60 Kb ( small ), DNC would assist
you also have room for a "small" A-axis in the future

Not necessarily, all three of the machines I am looking at have +/-. The Okuma is the oldest and most expensive to have updated and repaired. What I am trying to find out is if it is a better quality machine than newer mid-price machines or have they caught up in the years since it was made.
