Buy me a Beer?

Sounds like a problem with you spindle cooling unit, try cleaning the filters and the area around the unit, fluid levels etc, to see if that corrects the problem.
Is the unit actually coming on , green light etc. ?
Does ajusting the temp knob or pushing the reset button on the unit make it work ?

Next step - an Okuma rep. to check it out

this alarm is related to the thermisters in the spindle or casting. if you turn on all the display pages you should have a thermal comp display page that will show you the temps of all the sensors. the one out of range is the bad one.

OTO is correct!

The thermal sensors for the machine temperature have been changed since oct. 2003. According to the change, the four types of sensors have been united to only one type. Since the same type of the thermal sensors is applied to all machines, and the shape is a package type, there is no special items to be taken cared of when they are exhchanged.

The new type is fully sealed unit where as the old ones were siliconed sealed.

Part # you need is #E4433-326-009

If OSP-E100 control you MUST ORDER NOISE FILTER!!!!

Get me the temps you seeing on your sensors. We need to determine which channel (sensor) is bad. Okuma is VERY secretive about thermal compensation as it is one of many things that differentiates them from the competition.

Ultimately you need to change this sensor. OR TURN IT OFF which is possible as well. If you start seeing issues in holding size which may occur depending on what tolerance you are trying to hold, then you must replace the sensor.

This is most commonly seen on horizontals, MA-500, 600, 800 etc.

you need to determine which channel is defective.

To turn off...
Go into parameters.
Turn the thermal deviation comp. switch from YES to NO.

Once switched to NO the following screens appear.

A. Common Parameter A
B. Common Parameter B
C. Parameter X,Y,Z
D. Conversion Table

Select A. Then there you will be able to turn off the channel that is defective.
