I am getting the following alarm during bootup process on my okuma LR15 lathe with OSP 5000L controller:

Alarm 60: ECP Bus error. Code: 8040

Can anyone help me where to start troubleshooting.

According to the Alarm & Error list: Bus error and ECC error are detected while the ECP memory is cleared and initialized after the EC processor has started.

Probable Faulty Locations: ECP board
Battery

After the alarm, when you reset it, does the machine miscalculate X and Z 0? I had a similar alarm, and the solution was cleaning the copper connections to the phase switch, because coolant had been dripping on them.

I checked the CPU board battery and it was dead. I have replaced it but the alarm is still there. Does this mean that I have lost the parameters on this machine. If yes, how can I re-enter them. Please help!
