    APA check data alarm

Hello, i just bought another used Okuma MC-4VAE with OSP5020M control. I got it all setup and and moved all the axis's around. it had a low hydraulic oil alarm so i shut it down and filled it up.

Now we get this 202 alarm. when the hydraulics try to engage the Zaxis drops about .25". Same thing if you hit reset. Hydraulics engage for a sec and the z drops a lil more. (Z is gonna be on the table soon )

I found another thread with a similar problem where it turned out to be the encoder cable. I have checked everything i can and am out of ideas.

    Any suggestions??

    Anyone?????

I read a couple of post of similar issues and both times it was the encoder cable. Last friday i pulled the cable and check every pin from the encoder clear to the SVP board and it seems to be ok.......

Anybody out there got any ideas?

i'm pretty sure this whole issue is tied to the hydraulic counterbalance. If i support the weight of the z axis i can get the alarm to go away. I think it might be as simple as air in the line but i cant get the z axis to go up to bleed it.

ok, lets end this post and it can now be used for future reference.
It turned out to be the SVP board which is the encoder feedback.
Luckily i only had to buy the z axis part of this board so the cost wasn't too bad.

    machine is up and running.
