I have a gorgeous Okuma LB-15 lathe, with OSP 5000L (green screen) CNC. My dad bought this machine brand new in 1983 and it's been mine since new. I took it out of the box, and was the only one running it.
The machine was offline for a while and I've just put power to it. She fired up and came alive no problem.
I noticed that the CNC would "blank out" - the CRT and the green led's on the control would go dark, but the hydraulics and everything else would stay running. The only way to recover was to power down, and then power back up. I can't be 100% sure but it seems to go down when the way oil pump shuts off, but that could be coincidence.
Has anyone had a similar problem? What was the fix?
Could the CRT/Keyboard be going bad?
