There is no data management card available, no papers inside the electric cabinet, just the 12 disk box. They sure belong to this machine, the serial number is written in the labels.

You are not sure if You have full set of disks, right?
Have You try to install without "user disk" set?

I am pretty sure the 12-disk set is complete. They are labeled 1/10 ~ 10/10 and then the PLC ones are labeled 1/2 & 2/2 for a total of 12.

I would try to install the first set only.
Maybe some option added or removed.
The bad thing is, that these old 3½" diskettes could be faulty, despite of the best Okuma quality.

I was wondering if anyone had Okuma LCC 15 2s lathe, floppy disks? Mine got stolen ( they didnt take boards or anything, just the floppy disks). Thanks

For loading the disks, do you power on the machine with the first disk inserted, then press the load software button in rear cabinet, then follow the on-screen prompts..?

the first floppy is MS-DOS format compatible as usual. Check on PC, if contents looks like the floppy is Okuma installation one ( contents are listed in the manual ). Then you don't need to switch any tumbler unless asked to do so. On the other hand, no harm if you try to power on the OSP with that switch in "Load software" position. It will do no harm, if OSP will not boot from the floppy.

So, it sounds like I just need to load the first floppy in the drive and follow the prompts (not flip the "install mode" switch)?
Just load the disk, and power up the machine..?

Sorry, I just want to make sure that I have it all correct, before I begin the process, so that I don't mess up and end up causing more problems than exist already.

No, It will not attempt to load software just by inserting the disk. You will need to go into install mode.

Awesome. So, to be precise:

1. with the machine powered off, insert the 1st floppy
2. flip "install mode" switch to on
3. power on machine
4. just follow prompts?
(*or will I need to press the "Install Start" button, when the machine fails to boot)

At the expense of sounding elementary here, I just wanted to make 100% sure I get it right (at least as much as can be reasonably expected).

I am thankful for the help, and don't mind sounding dumb, to make sure I understand completely.
