If you have DNC-B you can drip feed via Rs232 if you have DNC-DT you will need to use windows IIS with the FTP function. You need to check which version of DNC you have
I am using a Okuma with the OSP7000M controler. Up until recently the only programs we have been running on it were either manually programmed or small enough in size that we could transfer them onto the controler. Now that we are using GibbsCam we are starting to get into 3d programs. There isnt enough space on the machine to store the programs. So I need to transfer my files via DNC. I don't know a whole lot about the machine. I believe we have all the manuals though. Here is what we have:
Currently we use a XlTransfer device to load programs with a USB disk. This device says it will Drip Feed if the machine is capable. I assume that it is capable since it does have the DNC switches on the control panel.
The main control box on the machine has one RS-232 connection.
I have the DNC-T1/DT manual. I am not sure how to set the parameters ( if needed) so that this unit can communicate with the mill. I read in another post that manual 4061-E section 9 contains info on parameters. Mine only goes to section 5. It does have parameter info though. I just dont know what to set.
I would like to use the transfer unit we have but I am just not sure what I need to set to make it work.

According to the book I have and what info I can find in the manuals it has DNC-DT. So then I guess we should be able to drip feed directly from the computer? Where do I attach the computer into the mill? Im guessing there is a networking hookup somewhere?
Also this computer is on a network here at the company I work for. I am assuming that my IT guy can hook me up with the hardware to hook it up. Will we need to install anything to network it? I see you said something about Windows IIS but I dont know much about that.
