Post Sub Spindle Program Help Needed

I am a Neb to the forum world, but have been machining for 20+ years. So hope that everyone will show me some grace on my forum experience. The problem I have is, I am attempting to program a sub spindle on our CNC Lathe to eliminate a second operation set up. I have very little documentation on how to go about that with the books that came with the machine. Trying to get the two spindles to synchronize same direction, same speed, at the same time has been a tall order thus far. I have done sub-spindle programming in the past on Fanuc controls , but not the Okuma based OSP5020L controller. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

    Process I am Attempting :
On Main Spindle; Face,Rough and Finish Turn,OD Thread.
*Then come in with Sub-Spindle and hold part,Part off, then move Sub-Spindle back and do face and taper cut on side coming off the parting tool. Then repeat process for the remainder of the run.*

Machine : CNC Lathe , Single Turret , Sub Spindle
    MFG : Okuma
    Model : Cadet LNC-8W
    Controller : OSP5020L

Thanks Again For The Help !

I don't have any specific info for your machine but here's something that may work from OSP-7000L.....

    M247 ( SUB OPEN INTERLOCK OFF )
    M249 ( SUB OPEN )
    M151 ( SYNCHRONIZED ROTATION ON )
    G97 S500 M3
    G00 Z-20.0 W1.0 ( RAPID TO POSITION NEAR PART. W IS SUB MOVEMENT )
    G01 W-1.6306 F0.1 ( YOU NEED TO WORK OUT YOUR W POSITION )
    M248 ( SUB CLOSE )
    M246 ( SUB OPEN INTERLOCK ON )
( REST OF YOUR PROGRAM HERE... PART OFF ETC )

after parting you will need to rapid the sub spindle back to home, switch to sub spindle (G141) then machine the 2nd end. etc. the process is the same as Fanuc, just with different M codes.

    Thanks Fordav11...

The set of M codes and the example program made a tremendous stride in the right direction. sent you a PM to say thanks as well.
