    rs232 setup fpr OSP500 (not OSP5000)

I have a little lb9, has a 25 pin male hookup, wishing to get it talking to my PC. I have found parameter settings online but always for the OSP5000 control, and it always call for parameter settings for some that I dont have. Anybody got a comm. setup sheet for this little lathe? Everything I have tried has been for naught.

The first step it is cable.
Ocuma not support RTS/CTS and DSR/DTR hardware protocol.
You NEED do connect each other some pins in cable itself:
    DB9 side
    4 and 6 (DSR/DTR)
    7 and 8 (RTS/CTS)
    DB25 side
    4 and 5 (RTS/CTS)
    6 and 20 (DSR/DTR)
And only after this, all your setting will work.
Untill I changed the cable no sending/receiving were.

    Okuma RS-232

a little correction. Okuma OSP supports hardware hand-shaking protocols on default RS-232 port and on drip-feed port absolutely.
The cable connection without hardware handshaking is good because it's much easier to set serial connection that way.

You should also have the same parameters as a 5000lg or a 5020lg control. The 500 was just a smaller screen and keyboard on a lb9.

I will have to do some more checking on the machine tomorrow, but I know that par. settings that I downloaded for the 5000L had changes to word parameter #54, I think my machine stopped in the 40's. It only takes one to be wrong for it not to work....

    A 5000l is different, much older. You need a 5020l or 5000lg
