Text engraving

Hi all
Does anybody know if there is a command restricting the C axis to follow the shortest path available when positioning for text engraving and are M15/16 mandatory? It is about Spaceturn lathes with E100 or P200 control.

There is no shortest path. You can create the shortest path with the correct M15/M16 and C angle.
M15/M16 is mandatory if you want to control the direction otherwise it will move in the direction it was last set to.

I was told by a friend that there is such a command for the milling machines but he wasn't sure if it's valid for lathes and he couldn't recall it either...
