M329 is not correct
sure it is not correct. Not every spindle allows that. Check parameters: there is one "spindle tool interlock" or something ...
Have a MB 56 with P200M control. Need to turn the spindle on approx 800 rpm with no tool in the spindle. M329 is not correct or "not enough". Anyone know how to do this?

Well, I didn't just pull M329 out of thin air. Not only is that the M code for "No tool in spindle" for tool changes and other instances, it is what the AE at distributor said to do also. Spindle regrind guy also knew this code and said it is what used to work.
Found 2 parameters to set with a check box "spindle tool interlock invalid" and "MDI mode Spindle tool ineffective" or some such thing. Tried all combinations of those on / off either or as well as with M329 and not, and still won't run.
the parameter combination must work. One more condition is necessary: check, if there is no tool in spindle on CNC. Sometimes it happens - operator takes the tool out of spindle or magazine not telling control about that.
And again. This parameter works on some spindles. Standard 8000ˉ¹ MAS/CAT must work.
If spindle is faster or some other improvements, the function could be disabled.
You can check inside a macro M329 . Maybe there is the answer.
