    Macturn 350 brake disc

    Machine: Macturn 350 U100

Problem: brake is not enough powerful when c-axis is locked.
(main spindle brake disk with 2 brake sadlle)

There is 2 different pressure in c axis, full force and force when c-axis machining is done.
With full force you can easily turn spindle with 0,5meter bar.
We did take brake pads out, they were "turcite" sama material as quideways with oil holes. No worn pads, and brake pistons move smoothly.
Also pressure was in "green zone".
Is brake only too small, or could there be something what we havent found ?

With clamp ON you should not be able to "easily" turn spindle. In C-feed mode, you can adjust the C-axis brake pressure to provide "smooth" c-axis cutting.

Is this the new style brake that is fed lube off of the way lube system or the old style that is greased?

Either way...too much lube or grease?

    Best regards,

There is lube fed to pads.
We also try pads without lube, but no luck.
Brake disk is almost like Corvette front brake disk, so it should
really have enough grip to hold spindle.
We have to clean disk with cleaner, and check if that helps.
