Do you have the correct pull stud on your toolholder? If yes, then is orientation of tabs correct? If still yes, adjustment of clamp cylinder may be required, but first 2 items are most usual culprits.
Best regards,
I have a OKUMA MC-30VA OSP500, when we try using the auto tool changer ,it will not hold the tool holder in and drop the tool out, when we use the manual step by step it hold's it in or when you do it by the manual tool changer it holds it in also, it seems that the final step isn't working properly, is there anything a person can change

Best regards,
what we see it that the arm moves away before the clamp is completed and the tool drops out, the clamp light comes on around 3 seconds after the arm is moved away, is there anything that you can make the arm stay there for a longer time until the tool is clamped in
thanks
Check
- pull stud
- pull stud grippers ( usually removed thru the spindle taper end )
- bevelled spring washers that keep the tool in the spindle
( you may have a couple broken and they could be fouling the clamp action-things do have to be pulled apart- maybe a service request - check the parts list for the assemby & where to find- back end of the spindle )
sounds like your encoder could be out of time just a tick..doesnt take much on those things.
