LB15 shear pin replaced what know ?

I had a shear pin alarm in the X axis. got the new pin in place but I still get a shear pin alarm. Iwas told that ther is a pin on a sensor near the brake that has to be pushed back in place, has anyone heard of this? Also how do I reset the X axis zero and return points? any information would be greatly appreaciated.

Can not help with the Shear pin alarm...
But to reset your X axis position, this is set the same as you Zero Set Z axis.
Move your turret into position at X zero by using a dial gauge to centre the turret about the spindle centreline.
Go to your Zeroset page and Calculate "0" (zero) on your X axis.
As for 'resetting' the return point, should not need to reset that unless your soft limit is allowing you to 'over-travel' to the point where the machine hits the 'hard' limit.
But if you feel the need to alter this, then goto the parameter page and with the machine in position at the point where you want it to stop, move your cursor to the X positive limit field and press CAL then Write.
Same as you would do for setting the soft limit for Z axis, only this time for X axis.
    Hope this helps.
    Brian.

Follow broby for Zero, and if i remember correctly, it was just a switch you had to re-set next to the pulley assembly. last one I think I did was around '92, so it's been a while.

    Thanks for the information

I found the reset pin it is under the Brake cover and is a black micro switch looking thing, just had to push the pin back into it with a screw driver. I followed Brobys instructions and I'm back up and running. Whille indicating the turret to the spindle, I notice that x is good but 90 degrees to x is out
.007 is there any adjustment for this?

To Adjust the turret position at 90° to X (0.007) as you described, you need to 'rotate' the turret itself. so far I have found that just about every damn machine I look at has a different method on how this is done!
I can not recall the method for this machine, but it might be as easy as relaxing the set screws holding the turret to the coupling and GENTLY tapping the turret around to ZERO.
You will need to check for any taper pin alignment dowels first tho!
These dowels, if present, need to be removed and probably thrown away, as they will be distorted.
IT IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO LEAVE THESE DOWELS IN DURING MACHINING!!
They are alignment dowels and once the turret is aligned, they should be removed. Otherwise, when you have a crash, the dowels can get bent and the holes get bruised, leading to the requirement of re-reaming the holes.
    Have fun!
    Cheers
    Brian.

YES remove the alignment pins! I've spent the better part of a week removing bent ones because someone decided it was better to leave them in. That someone is no longer with the company
