E100L ftp to Win7

Hi All;

I have an E100L with ethernet and I am using ftp to get files on and off the control. Has been working great but the Windows 2000 pc that acts as my ftp server is getting pretty tired.

I setup ftp on a Windows 7 computer and no matter how many settings I play with, I can't get the E100 to connect. Anyone had success with setting up ftp on Win7 with this control?

I have a little NAS box, file server that has ftp on it (Linux) but the Okuma control can't connect to it either. Makes me think I have to tweak something on the control, not the server.

Have you done the FTP logon loop back test on the pc using the GET PUT commands.

Then if you can ping the machine it should all work ok.

Please look towards the back of the DNCDT setup manual. You may need to make sure there is an FTP service running on the PC. I have heard of it needing to run a freeware FTP server on Win7 machines but I haven't had to test that theory yet.

IIS in Win7 is different and ftp is not setup by default but all of the tools are there (and improved). I can log in and transfer files from both Windows and Linux pc's so the server seems to be running fine. Ditto on the NAS ftp server. The E100 just seems fussier than the pc's. Not sure what the setting is. All the error tells me is that I have a communication error.
