    Error Proofing a Part Flip

Any suggestions on error proofing a lathe operation on an Okuma lathe? Part gets loaded into chuck, first side is turned, then stops at M0. Operator needs to flip part around and hit start to turn 2nd side.

Error occurs when operator is distracted, goes to lunch, etc, then hits start without flipping part around to back side.

Any suggestions to eliminate this from happening? I was wondering if the machine could be set to reject start button, if the chuck had not been unclamped / clamped.

    Any suggestuions welcome.

    TIA

Need to know what model controller you have on your machine... it makes a difference to the code for detecting if the chuck has been opened or not.
