    servo data adjust

    Hello,
    we have an okuma howa 2sp lathe. control is "oh osp lgu".
    original problem was damage of turret motor. after motor replace we have overshooting of the positions for tool stations and mcs diff over alarm. it happens for both turrets. damaged motor for one side only - and then overshooting positions for both turrets.

    i wanted to slow down a rotational movement. after all now its too too slow ;] and cannot make it change anymore.

    problem is with servodata adjustment for turret axis i think.
    i can access the file, i see the appropriate parameter and its possible to change them. then update the data. it looks correct. after changes i shut down control and power back on. i check the parameters inside the servo data file - they have been changed. but there is no change on the turret work. i tried many many times already with no changes. gave up for an hour going to do something else.
    after one hour power back on and - the turrets are rotating very slow - even if i recovered all changed values in servo data file to original values - no change.

    what am i missing with changing servo data file (change, then update data button and control restart) ?? or maybe other way to slow down / fasten up rotational speed ??
    and basic question - what could be the reason of overshooting positions for both turrets ? - it did not ever happen before damage of the motor. and a motor damaged occured on one side only.

    You seem to have had some success in changing the parameter...I believe that you will need to change the number, backup, power off, power off circuit breaker, wait about five minutes to make sure power has drained from drives, and then re boot machine.

    I know many of the RS-232 comm. attempts skip this step and have problems since the RS board doesn't properly reset, but the parameter looks correct. You may have the same problem. Most Okumas will not allow servo adjustment, but Okuma-howa...that's a different story and unfortunately I'm not as familiar with what can be adjusted with them, but the procedure is worth trying since some things on the Okuma control work that way.

    Best regards,

    OkumaWiz - Thanks for the tip. unfortunately its still not working nice. a temporarily solution is to rotate turret with the step of max 3 tool stations. if its does not reach so much speed the problem does not occur. i will try to edit the servo file as a file. maybe it will workout.

    Have you tried to use the system variable for turret speed?

    VTBOR=40

    This will set the turret speed to 40% of normal.

    I don't know if your machine has it or not, but it is worth a shot.

    VTBOR=99 will set it back to full speed.

    Best regards,
