    pip files

I have a problem. We have older milling machines in place with new machines coming in to replace them someday. The old machines have floppy disk drives the new ones don't. I have hundreds of programs in pip format. I can take a single program and load it in the machine, then outload in msdos format then transfer to the programming computer. With hundreds of programs I don't see us doing this for all of them. Is there any way I can take a floppy full of pip files and mass change them to msdos, or is there a program I can load so that my floppy in my programming computer will read pip files. thanks

Your terminology is a little confusing. Is Your question about transfer part programs, schedule programs, libraries, macros, parameters and tool descriptions from machine to machine and to PC?
RS232 serial interface is good at that. You can use 3½" floppy also. Okuma provides OSP format floppy reading/writing software for PC. The program name is "ospfc2000e.exe"

I think I understand your problem.

You have an array of floppy disks that have IGF programs, as well as NC files (.MIN).
A backup of files created either at the M/C control or at a TM-APT work station

These floppy's are formatted in "OSP" format ( Okuma ), and is not able to be read by "Windows" normally.

Okuma do have an application that emulates an OSP floppy, allowing you to read the filename structure and/or transfer to a different storage medium.
It does not allow you to use those "programming files" on a PC ( IGF files )

These "PIP" programs you talk about are actually NC-code files with a .MIN extension and they are a normal TEXT file that can be opened with any text editor like NOTEPAD

Your only problem is getting these .MIN text files, what are on an OSP formated disk, to be put onto a PC. This app would assist you.

( PS. don't let Al try to charge you, Okuma should pass it on for free )
