Fan alarm 2060 in OSP200L

Help me please! I have an alarm in an OKUMA control OSP200L; 2060 ALARM B FAN ERROR IN PC UNIT 10101, I find the fan destroyed, I changed it, but the alarm not dissapear, what else must to do?

Try checking the thermal overload relays ( in the elect. cabinet ), one may need resetting

These act like a fuse on a circuit if too much current get drawn through them

I've checked al thermal overloads relays, are OK.
The problem persists!!!

I am unfamiliar with a OSP200L ----what model lathe is it ?

Sometimes there is more than 1 fan,
I'm guessing that you have checked all of them ?
If we knew what machine, others may know how many fans there should be.

Find a fan, you know is working on a different machine, using a multi-meter,(machine turned OFF and with the wires disconnected ) measure the resistance arcoss the wires and compare this reading to the other fans on the faulty machine, you may find one that you thought was working.

Some other questions are...
Why or How did they become faulty ?
Is there anything in the surrounding area that contributes to the problem ?
ie. oils, coolants, dust, dirty filters, regular maintainence being done,

I've seen where a fan has become faulty after a hot motor melted the insulation out of the fan, the actual fault was in the motor

So be advised, there may also be a bigger problem just around the corner
you may be lucky, and it's just the fans

I realize this is is an old post but i thought i would reply in case somebody searches for it like i did.

i had this same problem/same alarm this morning. inside the control panel there is a small CPU fan, it had run its course. Took a drive to the local computer repair shop and picked up a new fan and we are back up and running like new.

(note: the fan i got from the shop had the wires in a different order, had to re-arrange the colors to match the fan i took out, but other than that, went without a hitch)
