    Instructions Needed for RS-232 settings

Guys, I am new here but I am looking for specific instructions on how to access the RS-232 settings for the following controllers. I have looked through the NINE manuals that came with each machine with no success.

Here are the controllers I will be needing to send programs to via rs-232.

    OSP-e100l
    OSP-P200l
    OSP-P100

Does Okuma publish their user manuals in PDF format? I can't believe the manuals did not come with a CD that has PDF versions of the manuals.

    Thanks,

    MikeinBoise

don't remember exactly, I always use search and display selection. Maybe the group of communication parameters is not displayed now. Search is working perfect on theses controls.
off topic, but why do You need RS232 connection for that controls?
Do You know the size limit for part program file for these OSP?

Nice how you think there is nothing wrong with Okuma EVER Or that you assume you have run the most impossble and difficult jobs ever conceived. How many Gb's is the P200? There is a limit.

The fact is dude your software should be configured to the machine, so you can use a zip drive for each of them. (maybe wrong about the 100l) If not they are not that hard to config, plug in an empty zip, and the P200 will do it for you.

    Sorry Al, Robert

Can you expand on the use of a zip drive? I clearly must not understand the interface with the Okumas.

I want to simply send a program from a centralized server PC, using Predator DNC, over to the onboard memory of the Okuma. I am not dripfeeding, just sending the whole program over to the Okuma.

    Thanks,

    Mike

Havn't really looked at our 100, but the newer ones should also take a network connection. All our manuals came on CD. Think you had to go and unlock the communications screen in the parameter list.

Here are your key strokes to get to the RS232 page.

First press the Parameter key and place the machine in Parameter mode.
    Press Display Change
Cursor down to Option Para: (Read/Write Get/Punch)
    Press Close Display.

This should get you to the page needed. If you cant see the page it may not be turned on. To do this after you press the Display Change and bring up your choice box, press the Right Arrow key on the far right of the screen, then press the Menu Change key on the left side of the screen, when the box appears you should see the first one say ALL DISPLAY. If this is not checked then place the check there and close out. This should turn on all your screens.

You can also check the MC User Para: (External Program Select) when in the parameter mode display change box and make sure this is correct. These pages should be pretty much the same for those controls. Hope this helps.
