    Smile AutoTool Zero code for MACH3

    Gang, Here is useful code which I have tested to do the auto tool touch off:

    [url=http://www.cooperman.talktalk.net/index.htm]
    Click on the tool setting button, then scroll down to the Tool setting Z description and button code for MACH3.

    All you need with this is a touch probe with a known height, with the connection fed into pin 15 on the NM-145 Breakout board screw terminal.

    Connection details to follow.

    Due to the non-osolated electrical input to pin 15 on the BOB, the probing is erratic due to electrical noise.

    This needs to be corrected by adding an opto-coupler between the probe and pin 15. I will post a schematic if anyone is interested.

    Please do. I have a 200 on the way, but wiring should be similar.

    Here is the schematic for the isolated probe circuit. There are only four electronic components. Just solder them onto a small Radio Shack perforated board (with solder pads on the back side). The cabling from the electronics must be shielded all the way out to the probe location.

    I forgot to add the pin numbers to the 6-pin opto isolator:

    Input anode-LED = pin1, Cathode= Pin 2
    Output collector= Pin 5, Emitter = Pin 4, and pin 6 = No connection.
