    T-Slot Spacing

Long story but I can't measure it myself - I need to know the t-slot spacing center-to-center on the NM-200. Anyone know it? It's not in the manual and I can't get at my machine to measure. Thanks!

    -Mike

Are you sure it isn't 60 mm center-to-center? If these mills are made in China they are probably made to metric specs.

I measured the T-slot spacing at 2 3/8" and 60.21mm. The width of T-slot was measured at 5/8" and 15.98mm. The Novakon user manual shows the T-slot specifications as 5/8" and 15.88mm and the table size as 40" x 12" (1016mm x 304.80mm). The manual does not show the T-slot spacing.

I just measured mine with my cheap calipers. One of the slots was 15.84 mm and one of the lands was 44.45 mm. So I guess that makes the center to center distance 60.29 mm or ~2.374 in. If you need it closer than that I can't help you.

If you're wanting to know for fixture manufacture don't drill holes in the "precise" t-slot locations for locating the fixture. It's better to slot or drill oversized to allow for some play, and drill & ream the table (yes, the table) for locating pins. Fix the location of the locating pin holes carefully on the bottom of the fixture or vise and voila you've got a perfectly repeatable fixture location in the WCS, at least as accurate as the homing switches allow. It also take all of 30 seconds to swap fixtures.
