New to the forum and NM145

    Hello,

My name is Jeff Devlin and if this is anything like the fishing forums, I'm supposed to post something funny about myself in the intro. So, I really don't have anything funny that's happened to me related to machining, but I was once a R/C Distributor and did tons of prototyping and part modification. Once I left the chuck key in a lathe and when I started it up, it flung up and hit me in the head. Only had to do that once...

I've been doing tons of research around the net over the past couple of months looking at Novakon's, Tormach's, IH's, Mikini and others. I got busy with work and took a few weeks off from my research only to find that Tormach and Novakon had released some pretty cool new machines. Once I got over my self imposed capacity issue, the decision was pretty easy- sure the new Tormach had the motor speed and perhaps "better looks", the Novakon was matching it in my opinion blow for blow in all categories. Khai stayed in contact with me throughout the search and being in sales myself, I really appreciated the follow-up (hint hint if you are in sales).

So a couple nights ago, I pulled the trigger on a NM145.

I'll be posting more as things progress and I'm super excited to be done with the search and can't wait to cut some metal.

    Thanks Khai and Novakon.

    Jeff Devlin

I have one coming as well also !

I am excited to for this machine and have high hopes.

Khai's customer service is great. No doubt about it, that helps with decisions to purchase and who to deal with.
