We both know I'm not qualified to have any real knowledge on this.....but...... I tend to do the same...for the same reason....machine has a slight nod. Since the face mill will see a load on one side...ie, the left side if climb cutting from the back of the part to the front...can that be pushing the head to the right slightly? ....causing a really small counterclockwise rotation/flex of the head? On several of my parts that have faces too big to mill in one pass with the face mill, I tend to do a trace tool path around the part instead of parallel passes
