    ncplot v1.2 under wine

I installed ncplot v1.2 in Ubuntu using wine. It installs, and the program opens.
I loaded a gcode file (to print "hello", a file that works in emc2) and the code appears in the left panel. I push the double-blue-arrow button, expecting to see chips (virtually) fly, but the right panel remains blank. Right mouse clicking while in perspective mode shows the axis, which rotates.

Should this have shown something? Is there a "user's guide" I can read? Anyone else run this in wine?

    Thanks

You will have to excuse my ignorance, but what is "Wine"? The only wine I know of is at the liquor store.

    Late Aprils Fools Joke maybe???

Wine is Windows Emulator in linux

Sorry about the confusion! My machine runs the Linux operating system. Programs for windows (.exe files) do not run directly in this operating system, but there is an emulator called wine that works for many programs. I tried running ncplot in wine, and described what happened.

When running a new program, when things don't work, you have to figure out whether you are doing something wrong in the program, or whether the wine emulator is not working correctly.

So, given the description I gave below, when I hit the blue-arrow button, should I have seen something happen in the right panel? Or, do I need to do something else to make the chips fly? Is there a test mode or sample for ncplot?

    Thanks

Wine is the Linux "Windows Emulator" (Wine is no emulator, check acronym) that helps some windows programs run in Linux. A lot of programs won't run under wine, like Quickbooks, but "Codeweavers" is a company dedicated to making Windows programs under Linux and Wine.
