    NCPlot DXF importing

    Hi-ho,

Just having a bit of a play with NCPlot V2, (Downloaded it about 20 minutes ago).

A question about using imported DXF tool paths/outlines.

Using the settings in the attached image, the import is seamless (with chaining).

But... (There's always a but). Can I stop the NC conversion from raising the path to the retract height between passes?

ie: The tool path it creates follows the outline, then retracts to 10, then re-plunges to cut the next step... Is this configurable somewhere? I had a look through the options and couldn't see anything obvious.

And as an aside, great program, and I'll definately have to charge up my paypal account before March! Considering that I'm an open source/linux zealot, and I don't actually have my cnc router built, consider this the highest praise I can offer! :-).

    Cheers, Chris H.

    Hi Chris,

This is a known issue and is already on the list. I will hopefully take care of this before the release, but if not it will be in an update soon after.

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Thanks for that...

That means it'll probably be done before I get a working router built!

Although I have a deadline now, I've semi-promised to make a flash doll house before August for my daughters 4th birthday. And I can't face the idea of (ugh) using hand tools.

    Cheers, Chris H.
