NCPlot v2 beta 12 now available

NCPlot v2 beta 12 is now available for download at:

    www.ncplot.com

    New for Beta 12

The Quick Start Manual has been updated.

The DXF exporting was broken in beta 11, this has been fixed.

    Some improvements to the viewport:

    · Axis icon is always visible on the Isometric viewport.
    · Some speed increase.
    · You can now rotate the isometric view in two directions. There is a new setting on the View menu that will allow you to lock the vertical rotation, which gives the old rotation behavior. While locked, you can temporarily enable it by holding the Ctrl key when rotating.
    · Added a right-click popup menu. This enables right-click access to the view menu. This can be enabled or disabled on the preferences dialog.
    · Fixed a bug in the Zoom Window tool. If the selected window was smaller than the minimum, the view would center on the window without zooming.
    · Zoom Extents tool has been improved. It fits the program to the viewport better, and will now include rotary axis movements.
    · Added ability to change the number of steps that draw for each step forward / backward command. This is located on the preferences dialog and can be set from 1 to 10.

Added local variables to the variable display window.

The Insert Macro tool is undergoing an interface change.

Added new settings for M98 and G65 subprogram calls to the subprogram setup dialog. These can be set individually for M98 and G65 calls:

    · Error if sub not found – When this option is selected, the commanded subprogram must be found or an error will be displayed.
    · Ignore if sub not found – If the subprogram is found it will be plotted, otherwise it will be ignored.
    · Ignore all – All subprogram calls will be ignored.

The current machine configuration is now displayed on the status bar. You can now quickly change configurations by clicking this panel on the status bar. This will open a menu listing the available configurations, just select one and the new configuration is loaded.

    Thanks,
    Scott

I just ran the new version. Some nice improvements. I like the vertical lock on the iso rotation.

I made two halves of a knife handle and used the mirror function to do the second half. Worked great for the most part.
The one problem I had with the mirror was an area in the program that I had switched to G91 (incremental) to do a counterbore. It gave me an error that the radius was too small. I just mirrored everything except the incremental code.

Thanks Bill, I'll check on the G91 issue with mirror.

I've thought about this quite a bit. There is tons of free or cheap DNC software out there, so I'm not sure if I want to reinvent the wheel. Maybe somebody out there would like to bundle their DNC software with NCPlot? If not, I will probably add some kind of upload/download capability.
