| I'm not running a CNC (yet), but 1/2" shaft straight bits for most everything, including hogging out cavities. Sharp cornered cavities (neck pockets, pickup cavities) are cleaned up with a 3/8" or a 1/4" bit. I'll be running carbide end mills on the CNC. |

| im trying to set up streamlined production, and with no tool changer and 2 spindles i decided most of the routing would be done with 1 bit. im going to try a 3/8" straight cutter bit because its long enough for the outline, and still small enough for the corners i need to do. |
