I am new to modeling guitars in 3D. I have this nice new CNC machine with tons of expensive software and I am dying to get started playing with my new toys! So, from those of you with experience in this, where do you get the most accurate guitar plans? StewMac sells a few, and I have seen others on ebay and various websites. Who has the most accurate plans with enough information to design a 3D model? I would like to design a Strat, Tele, Les Paul, Les Paul DC, Rickenbaker solid bodies, and a few others, including the necks and fretboards. I want to design from scratch, but using the most accurate information available. |

| There's a couple here. http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76664 Not sure how copying blueprints is "designing from scratch"?

| Thanks, ger21! That's exactly what I am looking for. From "scratch" means I want to learn to do the modeling myself instead of using some of the completed files I have seen in other threads. Some of the 3D models look very good. I hope to be able to add my own work to the library of info on this site. Kind of giving back to the community that taught me. |
