Can anyone provide, or a link to, a tutorial in creating a 3D rendering of a guitar body in Alibre? I have Alibre Professional v11.2 with AlibreCam. Currently going through the training tutorials. Very informative but BORING!!!!! I would like to actually make something while learning the system instead of spending 3 to 6 months learning how it all works and then figuring it out from scratch. So far it seems to be a great modeling program, but I'm dying to make something! |

| A wise man once said.... "no pain....no gain...." I understand where you are coming from, but it is the nature of the beast. You will need to spend the time to learn some of these CAD packages, before you start to create your dreams. Many do have a learning curve, and I went through the same frustrations you must behaving now, a couple years back (my choice is Solidworks, which is very similar to Alibre). So my advise would be to stick with those tutorials, and use/apply what you learn to creating a design. You will be creating in no time.... Sorry, I do not have any tutorials specifically on alibre...just solidworks. Good luck...

| Hi CyborgCNC~ I already have one of your DVDs for designing guitar bodies in Solidworks. Very good DVD. I learned more about Solidworks from your DVD than any tutorials. I have Solidworks 2009, MasterCam X3, and Alibre Professional with AlibreCam. I still haven't found out how to import an image into Alibre the way you do in Solidworks. I have support for Alibre and AlibreCam with updates, which I do not have for Solidworks, and I will be using Alibre for business, which is why I am interested in learning how to do this in Alibre instead of learning in one system, then having to learn in another. It's just a time consideration. I like both programs, but there are only so many hours in a day! I will be eventually purchasing all your DVDs. Any chance of a discount for ordering all of them? |

| send me a private email....you know the address. I am sure you can import an image....I played with alibre a while back, but I replaced it when I went to solidworks. I will look around, to see if I can find a way to do it, and get back to you.
