Just finished the construction phase of this little fiddle. I carved the plates with a violin arching pattern from HT at http://www.go3d.us/on a CompuCarve machine. The back sides and neck are made from rosewood and the top plate is pine. The fingerboard is pine painted black. The tailpiece is ebony that I carved by hand this morning. To view my construction log visit http://woodworkerszone.com/igits/showthread.php?t=6086 There are more photos of the building process.

| The best find was when the Chicago theater was renovated. The benches were made from African rosewood. They measured .875x2.5" in 16 -24" legnths. This was what I used in this fiddle.
