    f-hole data anyone?

    Hello from Germany,

    does any kind soul have data (any format/type) from f-holes? Guitar, violin, cello, mandolin - all is welcome.

    There are some free instrument plans with f-holes from the Watson Bailey website

    All but the first one are lower case f's from some of my computer fonts. (Just to show how easy it is to find F-hole designs.) The first one is a design based on a 1924 Gibson mandolin. Here's a pdf of the vector files.

    Here are a few f-hole scans. Sorry that the scans are not all right-side up, but they can be flipped around by any reasonably good drawing program. Source for the guitar f-holes is the Benedetto book, the viola f-hole is from the Guarneri 1676 "Conte Vitale"

    Hope this helps.
    If you cut it to small you can always nail another piece on the end, but if you cut it to big... then what the hell you gonna do?
