Semi-Hollow Singlecut Design

Here's the latest part off my K2...it's a semi-hollow singlecutaway design with an f-hole inspired by the grain on the top. The back is a single piece of mahogany and the top is a 2 piece black walnut top. I did all the modeling in Rhino and all the cutting on my K2 CNC machine. The guitar has a 2 degree flat surface on top that transitions into a "roundover" carve all the way around the edge.

The walnut with the mahogany looks good. How are you going to finish it? I take it you will go for some sort of a stain, since to solid paint that nice piece of wood would not be good :-)

What software are you using to machine your parts (ie cam package)?

I'm using RhinoCAM to do all the toolpaths. I used the horizontal finishing toolpath for this one...this gives you a nice spiral toolpath.

Looks great. I like to use tung oil and bees wax for my finishes. I'm very impressed.
