First, the photo link(s) http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y22...jects/E-Drums/ When I add to the drums I put it in a link at the top of the page at that link) November - December 35th 2005 I was running around like a mad man checking tracking #s and calling to get my parts for my one month project....the biggest project I have ever built and it's still growing...In size and allot more in money It started out as a really basic $900 kit from nothing at all and today it's a top notch recording machine worth 2 grand....yep...2 grand...And I dont have a job at the moment so it's really showing now... Instead of regular plastic drum heads, Mesh heads are installed and a pickup cone/trigger are installed in each drum as well as on the cymbals my current setup is as follows: 1 dual zone snare...head/Rim 3 Toms...10, 12, and 14 inch, (all single zone at this time) 2 14" Crash cymbals 1 Dual zone ride (bow/bell) 1 DIY bass pedal trigger that I welded from some angle iron I had around the shop. 1 single zone hi-hat 1 Variable hi-hat controller 1 Double bass pedal setup All that was done in one month was 2 cymbals, 3 toms, 1 snare...single zone, single bass pedal, open/closed hi-hat control, bought the stand, and made the drums from parts all over the place on the net. Back then I was running an Alesis DM5 drum module as it was only $170 to me but after the constant problems with the unit (as with all of them) I upgraded to a 700$ Roland TD10 and even then im currently selling that on ebay to upgrade to a Roland TD12 for more inputs/features These roland units are the only way to go if I may say...they are just amazing...the settings and sounds are endless...took days to go through all the sounds to see what I would like and I have 2 sets programmed out of the 50 on there now. anyways the kit is just amazing and I even like it more than the 1grand rubber pad kits like the Yamahas...the Roland drums are 5 grand for something that works really well like mine so in the end I have saved money. I'm not in any band nor do I sell the songs I record to the desktop computer...I'm just a 20year old guy who loves music. Thanks for your time guys,,,Feel free to ask any questions you may have and if you want to build or buy a kit... www.vdrums.com the message board is great
