    New Les Paul

Here is a new cad cam LP I made. The parts where made last year . I had a request for a 59 last month so it was a quick assembly and then finish. The LP was made on the CNC including fingerboards frets and inlay.

    keep on trucking!

You cant leave us hanging like that, post a sweet looking LP and not tell us more !! We want details! Was the LP Digitizing thread useful in this build? Did you route the maple carve top as a separate piece? Was the neck done also cut on a CNC? Wow there's so much going on in that pic, its a damn nice guitar Liquid. -Vinny

    quick answers to ya questions..
LP Digitizing thread useful in this build?
yes and no.. I do not scan but model by hand the 3D work is what Lightwave 3D calls meta nurbs this is a solid surface format STL likes the best..

Did you route the maple carve top as a separate piece?
yes, here a little video of the top after a 2.52:55 min carve, bridge holes drilled, routs for pickups ect in one pass.

Beautiful stuff there, I cant imagine the hours it took to get these kind of results. Very creative use of jigs, I especially like the drop down ramp to hold the neck while cutting the headstock, very clever! I hope to be there one day at that level. currently making slow progress and seeing someone doing this stuff gives me a boost of enthusiasm.
    Thanks, Vinny

Critical eye at work here. It looks to me like your cutaway is 80s spec (too large) rather than 50s spec in size. (Smaller.) But it's a fine looking piece of work either way.

Tried to watch the video but I'm getting an "it's private" note. Anyway, fine work on the axes!
