Hey guys, My guitar builder friend wants me to try making some knobs for him on my Taig mill. He recesses his into his bodies, so he doesn't use set screws. He wants me to find these plastic inserts some people are using. I've also heard them called bushings: ![]() Does anyone know where I can get something like this? Also, does anyone here mill their knobs? I get a nice finish on the side of things. These knobs are straight-sided. I was thinking of milling thick circles and cutting the recess in the bottom. Then either turning them over and rounding off the top - or talking him into 2 piece knobs. ;-> He thinks that's cheating but so many people do it. ...Athena ___________________ www.AthenaInlay.com |

| Re the "inserts" try an electronics supplier like Digikey or similar that stocks many types of plastic knobs. All you need is to find a small sized plastic knob with "fluted" core and straight outer sides, and use that as an "insert" inside your larger custom made knob. Small plastic knobs like that are usually well under a buck each. |
