    Default Faceted Radius cuts

Hi all, My Probotics Meteor Fireball router with Mastercam. my process is great I think, but results are horrid. My federate is good, but my endmill won't fallow my profile around any of the rads. Real choppy. Is there a stepper setting on the router to fix this?. My cut tolerance on Mastercam is .0005. Any help would be great, thank you.

Did you produce this toolpath from a mesh model with a very low polygon count? What it looks like is that the program is faithfully following the profile, but the profile is coarsely triangulated. I don't think it's due to your tolerance setting in MasterCAM, but probably relates to a setting in the original CAD program.

Could be the tolerance setting in LinuxCNC maybe?

Hi, I made a silhouette boundary from the solid, I might need to fix my model somehow.

I think it's my model/ wireframe geometry, I just made some radius geometry from scratch, and it cut perfectly. Thank you for the help.

Hi Warren, I wasn't able to use yours, sorry. Volute on the head was different.

Use 2D toolpaths to cut profiles, and save the 3D toolpaths for contouring (surfacing)... Mastercam should output arcs in 2.5D no problem, but most every software will do 3D toolpaths with point-to-point moves.
