Multicam a204 - difficulties connecting

So i just got a used multicam a204 router and im having some trouble getting it to connect with my pc.

I open the connection manager from multicam and my cnc is listed there along with its ip address. so i try to add it as a new connection but i do not have the .xmi file for this router so the connection manager tries to get configuration data from the controller but the connection manager never connects to the controller.

Also, the people that sold me this thing never gave me any manuals or documentation. So if anyone would be willing to share such documents I would be ever so grateful.

other note:
the connection manager lists my machine as "a103" is that actually the model of my cnc or do the a103 and a204 just use the same controller

I've got a MC A103, did you get yours talking yet?

we were initially trying to use multicam's most recent release of their suite software. so we down graded to multicam's PSS and that seems to work pretty well.
