    Default Multicam 5000 Motor Faults

    Hey Guys,

I am currently running a Multicam 5000 CNC, and keep having issues with a Motor Fault.

The CNC runs for about 5 mins, doing several programmed passes, then stops. Then "Motor Fault 16 XB Blink Count 9 Communication Signal" is displayed on the controller.

Anyone ever dealt with this issue?

I have tried, switching out the motor, also tried a reboot through the service menu on the controller. Still no luck.

Please let me know, if you have any insight! Thanks

Most likely you have a break in the encoder cable, and it could be something noticeable or something internal to the cable itself and when you hit a certain spot on the machine comms fail. You will have to replace the cable, and since you are replacing the XB cable, I would advise you replace all ....remember they have ran same number of times back and forth. There is a way to test but you can only do it, it you have a 2521 or newer control board (blue color control board)

If you do have that control board, let us know....
