I tested the voltage off the board and 760 has 24, but 770 does not. In fact everything in that bundle have 24 except 770.
But wouldn't supplying 770 with 24V give it the inverter fault signal?
As far as I can tell, 770 wants to have 24V+ to signal OK. I don't think 770 is in 510 circuit. 770 might be connected through the overload contacts on M5, if they exist.

The schematic I supplied should only be used as a guideline. It is probably close but not exactly like your machine.

Same errors, with 24V going to both 760 and 770.

760 and 770 run to the grey block below, which is labeled inverter 1.

Now I'm confused. This is beginning to sound like a parameter setup issue in the controller. I suspect the original file was set to ignore the inverter feedback and the current file wants something that we haven't figured out yet. When working OK the MultiCam system works fine, but for troubleshooting it leaves something to be desired. Especially when getting documentation is next to impossible.

I have attached a UC (with a txt extension) file from the router I have been working on. The first 20 lines or so are the calibration parameters for the axes, but not sure what the rest does. But it might be worth comparing your file with one that is running on a similar system. The primary difference between the two is that my file has a tool changer installed.

I know a MultiCam genius in my local area, so I may have to get you guys together. I'll send a PM with his contact information.

Here are the only parameter descriptions that I have

Thank you, that would be awesome. I was beginning to suspect that it was in the program somewhere, because of the timing and the fact that nothing has made any impact. Again, thank you for your help. I'll let you know how this turns out.

When I try to run a program, Motion Mechanic says the MODBUS is not initialized. I'm wondering if there is a missing setting for the modbus.

This might be helpful. Look at parameters 290 and 291

I saw those, so would changing 290 to 0 , would that say the the slave(which I assume is the inverter) is not controlled by the controller?

What about para 30? Mine is set to 0, the file you sent is 3. I have an M24 K520, so if I change that, that may solve this?

I don't know. It can't hurt to try. Just make sure you have a backup file of the original.

This is how you read and set the values from Motion Mechanic terminal

    Read:
    30 gi .

    290 gi .

    And to set the value:
X 30 set_integer (or set_float in the case of a floating point value)
    X 290 set_integer

where X is the value to be set

After some searching in that doc you sent:
Para 109: set that to Tool=** That sounds like an external tool on the system is used. Does that sound good?

Para 176: set this to 1 for do not use?

Para 196 and 300: Maybe change that to disable MODBUS. 300-307 set to 0, then I just control externally?

    109 that seems reasonable
176 0 seems like the correct setting in this case
196 0 seems to be the correct setting
300-307 0 seems correct, since there is no MODBUS comms with the inverter.

Disclaimer: I'm making my best guess based on the available information.

Changing the parameters should not cause any permanent damage so normally safe to experiment.

Set all as we discussed, except 109 which is left set 0. 300 was set 1.

Now my job console repeats fault detected when I load a program.

Communication timeout maybe? Maybe a setting in Job Server?

Change the value of 290 maybe? I can't find any timeout parameters.

I found these regarding JC error Looks like it might be a software setup issue in Job Server or at least on that end somewhere.

EDIT: I have to be gone for about 3 hours or so.

If you changed anything in the computer, or reloaded the software then the Modbus would have to be setup, I did also think that some of these use Modbus for spindle control also, but that would be if the VFD Drive had Modbus

Yeah, I finally got it worked out in there. I had the tech from the manufacturer remote in and he never mentioned that as a potential issue.

The good news is that I understand this machine a lot more than I ever need.

Yes-ish. I got the JC error cleared, just had to go to connection manager and delete and reinstall the machine. Now I'm getting a Z height thing, but that might be the job itself. But as far as I can tell it should be good once I have the right job in.
