    PROGRAM PROTECT

    HI EVERYBODY,

    WE GOT A MORI SEIKI LATHE NL 2500
    WITH MSX-850 CONTROLER

    I WANT TO KNOW IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO LOCK A PROGRAM
    TO MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO MODIFY BY THE OPERATOR

    Not that I know of.
    Easiest thing to do is leave the Panel Edit key in the "On" position then remove the key. You cannot edit program without the Panel Edit key in the Edit position.

    There are two ways to lock out a program on this control besides the edit lock key that will lock out all programs.
    If you go to the Process parameters there is a parameter called Ebit Lock B. Once on this will lock any programs between 8000 - 9999. If you want to go deeper you can turn on edlk c in the Base Parameters which will lock out programs 9000 - 9999. Mori may have this parameter already turned on but I can't remember if they turn it on or not.

    Yes, they come with that parameter already turned on, the 8000 and 9000 programs are protected to start with
