    Alarm Error when spindle starts.

Old Mori Seiki TL-5 lathe: Machine stopped recently and displayed this warning messaeg: OT 112 CURRENT EXCESS DC LINK. We turned machine off several times while trying to reset it and remove alarm, but this message always gets displayed right when the spindle starts in the program, also when trying to start the spindle in MDI and manual mode. I need help on this? It is old FANUC control, but can't find out which one until tomorrow.

Shorted spindle motor, bad spindle drive, or both.
