Nikken 4th Axis Probs

Hello, I hope someone can help

I am having problems when I try to disconnect our Nikken 4th Axis from our MV40 VMC.

When we remove the power cables and air supply it throws out an alarm on the control panel.

We were told to buy some 'dummy plugs' to put into the exposed sockets and to literally 'fool' the machine into thinking that the Nikken was still attached. No Luck!!

Could anyone tell me if it is possible to simply turn off /on the Nikken 4th Axis from within the control software or is there anything else we can/should be doing.

Machine is MV40 17 years old

Control is Fanuc 15MF

Many Thanks

Do you enable or disable the 4th axis in parameters somewhere? Any controller that has 4 working servo amps is going to miss the motor that isn't hooked up, so I'd say you have to disable that servo amp somehow.

Check the following NC parameters (if this is a 16i or higher). These will all apply for the 4th axis, don't change X,Y or Z.
12.7 should be a 1
1005.6 should be a 1
1005.7 should be a 1
1010 should be one lower than it is currently
3134 should be a 0
2009.0 should be a 1
You may also have to change 1815.5 to a 0
these parameters also disable the buttons on the panel for 4th axis (if they exist).

Please proceed with caution and WRITE DOWN your previous parameter values.
