    Question Just one more tool!!!!

I have a DV5100 that has 30 tool pockets. my question is, can I have my carousel full and have 1 tool in the spindle. So I can have a total of 31 tools in the machine?

Well, i haven't tried on ours, but my guess would be no. The machine will want something empty, so if you do a M33 it has somewhere to put the tools. In theory, you might get away with assigning a tool 0, but i kinda doubt it.

And BTW, make sure you clean the hidden air filter on that machine. There is a square panel on the rear of the machine about 12X14. Behind the cover is the air filter for the drive units.

Is that a side mount tool changer? If so, I'd say "Yes", you can have 30+1.

Since any time you load a tool into the spindle it leaves an empty pocket.

I'm going off what the Haas is set up to do, though. Mori's may be different. Haas' are always 24+1, or 40+1 (the +1 being the tool in the spindle )
