    Mori MV4?

Looking at purchasing a mori MV4 vert mill w/yasnac 18i control. Haven't found much info for this machine. Anyone have any experience with this particular machine? year is 94 or 95. Machine is powered up and running and all axis are quiet and smooth. Haven't cinched the deal yet.
    Thanks in advance.

Better get the specs again.. MV4 does not exist. Mv40, MV40B, MV40E, and there is no Yasnac 18i. 18i was a fanuc, and came out a couple years later.. Yasnac had a I80, but pretty much gone by 95.

You are correct! It is an MV40 with the yasnac I-80 control. Still need to know if they are reliable and are parts still available if/when she breaks down.
    Thanks for the correction.

The Mori MV-40 is an excellent machine. Well built and will give years of good service provided it hasn't been wrecked or abused. The Yasnac I80 CNC is not a "bad" unit but Yasnac has undergone numerous changes to its corporate hierarchy and getting parts and service may be a problem depending on where you are.

Machine side parts no problem, however I strongly suggest you get a Mori tech to check it out. The ways can get damaged from lack of maintenance, seen a few myself., atc claws get bent or worn out, thrust bearings fail after years of production. I will urge you to look for a Fanuc one, although the i80 is not bad. Most of the Mori guys don't deal much with Yasnac, so it can be difficult to get answers.
