When I hit the power on button for the control The screen says "NC Mode" in small letters in the top left corner of the screen. Then it goes blank. I can press the Mode and Reset buttons and it makes a beep sound but I can't get the servos to turn on. This is on an MV45/40
Does anyone have experience with this? Any help is greatly appreciated![]()
Solved! I sent some boards to yaskawa to be tested and fixed. When they came back I installed them and had the same problems. I then started checking over more things with my meter. I tested the dial/switch near the tape reader to make sure it was functioning properly, and it was. I traced the wires on the switch back to the CP02 (servo control) board. The CP07 (Main CPU) is mounted righ next to the CP02 and has the same plugs. I thought it would make more sense for the switch to be wired to the CP07 so I moved it along with a neighboring connection. Turned on the power and it fired right up!
According to the maintenance log, It appears the previous owner sent the CP07 out for repair in 03'. When it came back it was hooked up wrong and they weren't sure why it wouldn't fire up. So the machine has sat for years. Yaskawa wanted me to have a service tech come out and look at it. The approx cost would have been $3,000 to $5,000. I got this machine on Ebay for about $3000. Its a Mori Seiki MV40/45.
