My G83 drilling cycle is chip breaking only, I want it to retract to the R plane instead, anybody know how to do this? this is on a mori nl 1500 2 axis lathe no live tools and a mitsubishi msx 850 control, also, how do I know if I have ridgit tapping? thanks |

| It had been couple years I haven't run or touch any machine, but I did search for the same issue back and come up empty unless live tool. What I did was manually program...... Rigid Tapping? the simplest way is test it out.

| I have had the same problem. I have figured out that if you use a canned cycle, it will do a chip break and retract to Z.1 only after it travels a certain amount. I haven't tried all that many configurations to see why the canned cycle won't retract to Z.1 after each peck. The work around I used in a pinch is to avoid using the "Cycle Out" and let Mapps long code it. Makes for a long program! I will see if I can figure out a better way in the morning. Most of the holes I drill are with Allied drills and on the 12"-24" deep range so I dont do a lot of peck drilling. |
