    Mori Lathe Polygon Turning

Has anyone with NL or NT done any polygone turning ( spinning tool). I have done this on several Okumas, but not a Mori yet. On the Okuma one code to ignore the interlock. On the Mori looks like this as i can tell:

    M306
    G97 S4500 M3
    G51.2 P1. Q1.8 R0

    Thanks in advance.

With the live tooling specification they can all do polygon turning. At least current models and many going back to mid 90's. But it's an option so if you need it ask for the option when you buy the machine.

For hobbing, watch this video from Mori Seiki....

    and another one for Okuma....

    Hobbing starts at 2:23
The hobbing attachment is made by WTO and they have versions to fit most machines that have the live tooling option.
